Drowning Man 06:09
Drowning Man… He had a ten ton monkey on his back and oh, Lord it was bringing him down. He had built it up with bricks and stones and broken dreams, he'd collected. Choking on his existential angst he spit black rage at the world. Then he cauterized his wounds with whiskey and tears of shame. Drowning Man… He had a lonely artist's lair where he could use and abuse himself. He had built it up with life in mind but got lost on the way. Slinging out sarcasm he would shoot down anyone. Then he'd sling into a drunken haze and cry tears of shame Drowning Man Broken Soul Stunted Heart Frightened Boy Drowning Man…

He came to me on his knees again He tried to pretend that it was yesterday I had to say "I'm so sorry friend, go look for yourself stop looking for me" He came with gifts and pretty words for me He tried to kiss me and be my man I'm not the treasure he thinks he's lost and found He'll find it when he stops looking for me This love has not been handled with care It's damaged and deserted us I'm not his salvation I haven't got the strength to be a life raft

Pearls 04:57
Seventeen thousand pearls of wisdom, I have swallowed down All of them growing here inside me, like children Mottled and glistening in my gullet, I can feel them change They've acquired edges and grown stronger, like diamonds Nobody knows they lie here nesting, no one's seen them yet They can't be found by one not looking for treasure Open me up you might find hidden gold I've been saving for some rainy night Peel back my skin and I might just unfold Like a flower in first morning light…on a bed of crystal water Seventeen thousand seeds and secrets, I have tucked away Sweet and delicious in their silence, like shadows Open me up you might find hidden gold I've been saving for some rainy night Peel back my skin and I might just unfold Like a flower in first morning light…on a bed of crystal water

Perception 03:27
I look down and I see The grass growing right beneath my feet I look down and I see The brilliance of autumn leaves I look down to a perfect stone I look down to the whiteness of snow I look down to a swollen stream I look down to the wet black earth I look up and I see A moon that illuminates the night I look up and I see A sky full of burning starts I look up to the grace of a bird I look up to the heat of the sun I look up the hugeness of thunder I look up to the freshness of rain

Beauty 06:35
The stance of a diva still and alone Lips of a temptress body of stone A touch that is velvet a tongue that is wine Ready and waiting this lady divine Beauty is my name False appearances my game Bring my shiny gilded mirror Flawless painted beauty's here Bring me diamonds give me gold Only treasures will console I'm illusion, blind sight Shallow judgement is my right I will peel you like an orange And hang your skin in my collection All I want is surface fare So bring your goods for my protection Touch my perfect skin I am greatness drink me in I will have you if you're cheap My domain is pure skin deep Bring me children give me glass Only perfect marks will pass Imperfection has no place where I am goddess I am grace I will peel you like an orange And hang your skin in my collection All I want is surface fare So bring your goods for my protection

Bare Bones 04:16
Can yo utell me what to do with these bare bones We've been waiting up for you in our bare bones What will happen when you're through to these bare bones Don't you think you're running to just more bare bones Tell me something I don't already know Give us something to believe before you go I can take it but it's not only me Take your time you're blind wait till you can see The picture Turn to the child and he'll take your hand He can lead you to love he can bind you to land If you look for his strength you just might find your own He can heal you and cure you and build you a home Will you tell me where to lay down my bare bones I've got quite enough to pay from these bare bones Have we nothing left to say between these bare bones Don't you think we ought to pray for his bare bones Tell me something I don't already know Give us something to believe before you go I can take it but it's not only me Take your time you're blind wait till you can see The picture you said, you don't want to be strong and you said, it's been to far for too long I can't help you you said, you don't feel like a man and you said, you don't know if you can Turn to the child and he'll take your hand He can lead you to love he can bind you to land If you look for his strength you just might find your own He can heal you and cure you and build you a home Bare Bones

Walking Away 04:04
You've seen me foaming at the mouth A rabid dog full of bitterness and pain So unbecoming and so unlike me So here we are again I've seen you puffed with peacock pride To have snagged another hen to keep your ego soaring Fair weather father and a fine wether friend So here we are again Please know that I'm sorry For believing all the things you said And God forgive my weakness In reproaching you instead of walking away We sat there locked in our old game How about another row to keep our illness spreading Bones of contention are all we can chew So here we are again You've seen me foaming at the mouth I've seen you puffed with peacock pride We sat there locked in our old game Now I'm walking away Walk away All the best to you

You can't find what you haven't got in No Man's Land Can't find what you haven't got in No Man's Land Won't find what you haven't got in No Man's Land Can't get what you haven't got in No Man's Land Clothed in a moonless night And bathed in another's skin that doesn't quite fit Masked as a gentleman And cloaked in red wine but wind doesn't last It breathes and goes stale on the counter top Where are you going in your top hat and your tails I'm sure you'll make the party but you forgot to wear Your soul Family of lonely hearts A fortress of leaves, they're pretty but frail Change colours and fall as the seasons fade Don't forget your hammer in your tool box by the stairs You can't borrow other people's nails and you Can't build on other people's land You can't borrow other people's trust and you Can't borrow other people's love
